Adult circumcision is treated by some men as a cosmetic procedure where they just like to get it done for the sheer looks of their penises. For some the reason of circumcision is that they get infections under the foreskin of their penis which can be extremely painful and that is why they would like to get rid of the skin. |
Infections can be a result of bad hygiene though and they usually occur when men do not wash properly beneath the foreskin of the penis.
Some men suffer from a condition called phimosis, which means that for some reason they are unable to pull the skin of the penis backward and to correct this they may choose to get circumcised. Other reasons for circumcision could be weeping penis or penile carcinoma which can cause the patient to go through circumcision.
There are about three methods to perform circumcision and these methods are best discussed with the doctor depending on your condition. The doctor will suggest the best possible method for a patient. The three methods of circumcision are as follows:
Any of these methods can be performed in the doctor’s clinic and often it is an out patient method as it is considered as an extremely simple surgery. It is also performed under local anesthetics. Some patients who choose general anesthesia are admitted into the hospital because they need time to recover from the effects of general anesthesia which will actually take longer than the surgery itself. The period of recovery is around two weeks for a penile circumcision surgery.
