Ways to Prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome:

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a recurring stress injury that occurs in the wrist when the tendons and ligaments get inflamed and swollen. This usually happens due to frequent movement and is common in people who work in factories, work with computers or musicians.

There are many ways to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and it is best to take preventive measures as it is an extremely painful condition. One of the best ways to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome is to stretch and exercise your wrists and hands before you start doing work that requires constant wrist movement. In addition, make sure that your wrists are placed straight and are in a leveled position to avoid stress on them. It is a good idea to take frequent breaks to ease the tension from the wrists and allowing them to relax.

People who work with computers should make sure that their chairs and desk can be adjusted to suit their bodies. Using cushioned gel pad to cushion your wrists is an excellent way of preventing this condition. If you work long hours at the computer, take short breaks to give your wrists some rest.

Other ways of preventing this condition includes wearing a wrist splint, taking acupuncture, exercising regularly so that your body is more flexible, taking medication that reduces inflammation, using heat pads or using ice packs.

If you are suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, you have a surgical procedure to correct the condition. However, if you take preventive measures, there will be no need to have any invasive procedures.
