There are many different types of psychotherapy and they all have one thing in common. They believe in helping people through a treatment process where the patient has to talk to the therapist while the therapist listens, interacts with the patients, and observes certain signs and comments on them so that the patient can heal.

 

Usually a psychotherapy session takes place in the therapist's office. A session can also take place in a hospital if the patient is admitted for treatment. Invariably the length of a psychotherapy session is around 45 to 60 minutes. A patient invariably meets the therapist once a week but this can vary depending on the severity of the patient's mental health.
