Benefits Of Physical Activity In Children

When people think about exercise, they think it is working out in the gym or treadmill or doing weight training. However, for kids this cannot be applied. For them, physical activity would mean playing and being active on the whole.

 

Kids learn to exercise when they have a gym class in their school, when they are at football practice, or when they are enrolled in dance class. They also exercise when they play during recess.

There are several benefits to kids from being physically active and some of them are as follows:

Besides the various health benefits of doing regular exercise, kids who stay physically active also sleep better. In addition, they are able to handle their physical and emotional challenges like running or studying for a test much better.

In fact, parents need to encourage their kids to take part in a variety of activities so that they can develop from all angles. When kids get involved in aerobics, they automatically learn endurance. During aerobic exercise, the child’s heart rate is faster and they breathe harder. When done regularly, it has long term benefits and strengthens the muscles of the heart and improves the body's capability to deliver oxygen to all cells and tissues.
