One of the most common clinical signs of obesity is overeating. Overeating is a syndrome that can be noticed in children and adults. Some people just fill their plate wherever they go and they are never satisfied with little food. They may be thin currently but it may eventually lead to obesity.
Some of the physical disorders causing obesity are:
- Metabolic syndrome which causes some people to have a really low metabolism rate in spite of leading an active life style.
- Hypothyroidism is a condition that affects the body’s metabolism rate directly.
- Familial obesity is another reason and sometimes it is a genes thing for people to be fat.
- Cushing's disease is a rare disorder that can cause obesity.
- PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome causes women to become obese.
Some of the psychological causes for obesity are binge eating, overeating, brain tumors and cancer. However, one cannot diagnose serious problems like these on the basis of obesity.
