Malnutrition And Axon Problems

The lack of nutrients such as zinc, iron, vitamin B, and protein deficiency are caused by malnutrition. All these nutrients are related to brain development. The shortage of these nutrients during the child’s development is responsible for lower IQ and can lead to antisocial behavior as the child grows up.

Malnutrition especially during the developmental years is considered as a major cause for psychological and behavioral problems.

Myelin is an electrically insulating phospholipid layer that surrounds the axons of many neurons. It encases axons permitting the transportation of messages between axons. Axon communication is faster if the myelin sheath is heavy. Myelin sheath has more cholesterol than any other part in the brain. Autism, ADHD, depression and multiple sclerosis are some of the effects due to underdeveloped myelin sheath. Neurotransmitter is the key for the brain to function. The process of communication between neurons through axons slows down causing mental disability due to lack of protection from myelin sheath.

A diet lacking in omega-3 fatty acid is known to cause problems in learning, motivation and motor skills. Omega-6 fatty acid is needed for brain functioning. It affects the release of neurotransmitters. The brain can not function properly without the release of neurotransmitters.

Axonal neuropathy results from metabolic derangement of peripheral nervous system neuron. Even though diabetes or kidney malfunction can cause this, malnutrition and alcoholism also can cause this condition.

It was the worst and the longest economic collapse in the industrial world. The depression spread to other countries too as many industrialized economies were interlinked and dependent on one another. More..
