Vitamin B3 And Micronized Calcium

Micronized calcium is available in the form of micronized citrate in a granulized form, manufactured as a non-gritty chewable tablet. Calcium citrate has long been acknowledged as a source of calcium as a nutrient supplement.

It is more readily bioavailable as compared with other commonly used calcium salts like calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate.

Calcium is generally prescribed to minimize the risk of contracting osteoporosis. Thus, is especially important to post menopausal women and aging men. The micronized citrate tablet is also reported to raise the level of urinary citrate which is believed to delay or inhibit the development of kidney stones. Kidney stones have always been a matter of concern to those having to necessarily ingest large quantities of calcium on an ongoing basis.

Micronized calcium tablets are blended with a sweetener and lubricant to make them more palatable and easier to consume. They are now available commercially in a particle size ranging from 0.1 to 10.0 microns which makes the formulation non-gritty, chewable and hence more acceptable.

Vitamin B3 or Niacin is part of the B group of vitamins which help the body transform carbohydrates from food into glucose which is burned to produce energy. These B complex vitamins maintain a healthy nervous system and help keep hair, skin, eyes and liver in proper working order. Niacin helps in the production of various stress related and sex hormones, improves circulation of blood and reduces cholesterol levels.

While both Calcium and Niacin are essential for the proper functioning of the human body, there is no apparent connection between Vitamin B3 and micronized calcium.
