Rimonabant is used to treat patients who are obese and also helps to quit smoking. It directly acts on the central nervous system and hence, the side effects are pretty variable. Some of the side effects include increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, dizziness, anxiety, perspiration, upper respiratory tract infection and diarrhoea. In addition it could cause stomach upset, sleeplessness, restlessness and perspiration.
Sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms and depression levels are observed in patients. This pill is not approved by the United States FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as there are risks of contracting diseases related to the nervous system like Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis in the case of susceptible patients.
Generally, this pill is consumed orally in the morning after breakfast and swallowed as a whole. Though it is available online, it is mandatory to seek the advice of the doctor before consuming the pill. It is not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding women. It is also not suitable for patients with abnormal renal function, weak liver or epilepsy. It is important to inform the physician in case of any allergic reactions to some kind of sugars.
This pill should be kept out of reach from children. In addition, it should not be consumed after the expiry date.
