Orlistat Ingredients

Orlistat is a crystalline powder which is not soluble in water but dissolves easily in methanol, ethanol and chloroform.

It is distributed in the form of hard gelatin capsules and is dark blue in color. The imprinting is done in light blue color. The active ingredient of these capsules is 120 mg of orlistat.

In addition, the capsules contain some inactive ingredients like microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium starch glycolate, povidone, and talc.

The shell of these capsules contains gelatine, indigo carmine and also titanium dioxide. The edible ink used for imprinting contains ammonium hydroxide, black iron oxide, shellac and potassium hydroxide.

A dosage of 120 mg of orlistat capsule is taken orally along with the main meal. Orlistat blocks excessive absorption of fat from the body. The excess fat then comes out of the body through the excreta and hence results in weight loss.

It is more beneficial to take meals with reduced calories and low fat as the excessive fat comes in the form of oily discharge while passing stools. There is a frequent urge to pass stools if you consume food containing high levels of fat.

Since this capsule interferes with the absorption of some vitamins, it is better to take multi vitamin tablets along with the pill.

Orlistat should be consumed after consulting with a medical expert and also disclosing your entire medical history including all the medications you are currently taking along with any other weight loss pills you may have taken in the past.

This pill can be purchased online but requires a written prescription. There are numerous companies which manufacture this weight loss pill for safety and comfort reasons.
