Amino Acids For Lactose Intolerance

Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose. Lactose is a type of sugar found in milk and other dairy products. Lactose intolerance is not a serious problem and can be controlled by modifying the diet.

The dietary changes would require exclusion of all foods that contain lactose, like milk and milk based products.

However, these foods are excellent sources of protein for the body. Hence, the individuals need to modify their diet to include other protein rich foods. Else they may suffer from symptoms of protein deficiency.

Soy-based products are in demand because of the extra-ordinary health benefits that they provide. Soya based products are lactose-free. Moreover, soy protein is the only plant protein which contains all 8 essential amino acids in the right balance to meet the body's needs. This makes it a great alternative for many meats.

Soya beans are not only beneficial from the protein perspective but they also contain many nutrients, such as isoflavones. Isoflavone is a plant compound that is considered to have positive effects against cancer and heart problems. Soy isoflavones also help by slowing bone loss and inhibiting bone breakdown. Soy protein also enhances the ability of the body to retain absorb calcium into the bones.

Other non-dairy lactose free sources of amino acids include rice, vegetables, herbs and the like. Lactose-free whey protein concentrates are also a good source of protein and are lactose free. This is derived from fresh, sweet dairy whey processed by a special cross-flow filtration process. This process concentrates the protein and eliminates lactose.

The metabolism rate of the body is the rate at which the body is able to burn off calories, and fats. The metabolism rate is increased because it is hard for the body to digest protein as compared to fat or carbohydrates. More..
