What Part Of The Brain Causes Dehydration ?

There are several illnesses that cause dehydration in people. Any illness that causes the body to lose water through sweating, vomiting and passing stools often can lead to dehydration. Body is mostly made up of water and the blood is a mixture of water and other cells that help carry energy and oxygen to various parts of the body.

Many vital organs like brain, kidney, heart and liver are dependant on water and oxygen to function normally. Dehydration can affect the brain as a whole and it is very difficult to tell which part of the brain has been affected. Water plays a very important role in the functioning of brain and cells. It supplies oxygen which is primarily needed by the brain. Also the brain releases many chemicals that stimulate the nerve cells in the brain to carry out the voluntary and involuntary actions of the body. These chemicals have to be dissolved after they are released and water helps in the process.

Brian and heart are organs that function without stopping. When brain is constantly releasing chemicals it is also consuming oxygen and the moment it stops getting either everything start going wrong with the brain almost with immediate effect. That is why many people experience headache as the most common and first symptom of dehydration. Dehydration in children should be never ignored as it can be very dangerous for them. It may have severe developmental impacts if the brain gets affected due to dehydration. The easiest way to cure dehydration is drink several ounces of water when the symptoms are noticed.
