How To Reverse Chronic Dehydration ?

Chronic dehydration is quite common and can be found in most individuals drinking inadequate amount of water. However, this problem of chronic dehydration is not taken too seriously, since the symptoms are often confused with that of some other underlying disease.

Several symptoms such as fatigue, depression, joint pains, obesity, High or low blood pressure, constipation, Ulcers etc are usually associated with hormonal changes or are considered to be stress related disorders. However, what most people do not realize is that these are the symptoms of chronic dehydration. In fact, most often than not, these symptoms are an emergency signal that the body needs more water and not medicines, as one is not actually sick, but only dehydrated. And hence, it is important to reverse chronic dehydration, more so to lead a healthy life.

So, how can chronic dehydration be reversed? The solution and the safest course of action is as easy as drinking at least 8 or more glasses of water daily. Water should be consumed even when there are no symptoms of dry mouth or thirst, since these are not the first signs of dehydration. However, chronic dehydration cannot be reversed by drinking a few extra glasses of water overnight. It requires a more systematic and persistent effort. However, drinking soft drinks or more cups of tea or coffee is not going to help either since they are all known diuretics and they actually contribute towards loss of water from the body.

Hence, the best course of action is drinking clear liquids, in addition to maintaining a balanced diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables and this will certainly help reverse chronic dehydration, over a period of time.
