A fleshy growth in or around the genital area could probably be a venereal or genital wart. It is an embarrassing health condition, and one usually wants to avoid seeing a doctor. If the condition is not too severe or the warts are not that itchy or irritable, one can try home remedies in the privacy of one’s own house. |
These warts can be sexually transmitted. So, one should avoid any sexual contact with his partner till the infection heals completely. A recommended home remedy is applying a paste of castor oil and baking soda on the warts. Multiple applications may be required before any improvements are seen. Some recommend cutting off a section of banana peel and bandaging it over the wart and leaving it on overnight. This treatment can be alternated every other day with a small piece of garlic.
Treating the affected area with apple cider is seen to be very effective. Aloe vera and extract of fig stems are also equally effective on the warts. Aloe vera act as an excellent soothing agent to get rid of any associated pain with the warts.
Another popular home remedy is using onion slices rubbed with salt on the warts and leaving them through the night. Regular application of onion juice helps in removing the warts. Vitamin A, vitamin E or beta carotene capsules are also good antidotes for these warts. The vitamin capsules can be cut open and the oil squeezed onto the affected skin. Repeated treatment with these oils helps the warts to fall off.
It is always advisable to see a doctor when all the home remedies fail, and the infection seem to worsen. Pregnant women should not try home remedies. Instead, they should immediately seek medical attention.
