Impetigo On Herpes Culture

There is a lot of confusion regarding the herpes simplex virus and impetigo in the general population. This confusion is usually because of the similarity between the sores and blisters caused by these two skin disorders. The blisters and sores look almost the same in both the infections, and one cannot distinguish one from the other.

It is so becomes very important to understand the nature, symptoms and cure of the two ailments to plan an effective treatment plan.  Impetigo is caused by bacteria while herpes is caused by a virus. Another distinguishing factor between the two is that herpes simplex only occurs on the face, lips and ears, while impetigo can occur on any part of the body. So, if one has blister or sores on their back, chest or the abdomen, then it is in most probably the impetigo and not a herpes infection.

Also, impetigo occurs mostly in children and kids, whereas herpes or herpes simplex virus can infect any and every age group. However, both impetigo and herpes usually invades the body when it is very young, and has a comparatively weaker immune system. Though, impetigo will usually surface in children and not so much in adults, while a person infected with the herpes virus will continue to suffer from sores and blisters even in his adult life.

Since both these skin infections are very contagious, it is best to consult a doctor as soon as possible. However, the age group of the patient can give us a general idea of what it might be.

Both the infections contain a lethal property that is they both are contagious. It is best to consult a doctor in case of sores and blisters which will help these two diseases to be identified and handled with ease.
