Therefore, whenever your partner has an outbreak, you should avoid all these things. In addition, you and your partner should wash hands frequently using soap and warm water. This will go a long way in the spread of infection. This said, you can also get the virus when the person does not have cold sores.
Therefore, the choice of dating a person with cold sores completely rests on your shoulders. While there are many people who suffer from cold sores, it is not they are alone and cannot find someone to date. The fact remains that the person should be honest about getting cold sores and both of you should take adequate precautions, especially when the blisters appear as the virus is most contagious then.
