Physical Characteristics Of Children With Autism

The physical characteristics of children with autism are same as the normal person. They look normal and have everything in their body that a normal child would have. However, they do not exhibit the same physical behavioral pattern.

Children with autism differ a lot from normal children when it comes to communication skills, social behavior, verbal communication and non verbal communication. They also have limited interest in activities. Children with autism are very stiff when it comes to their routine and do not like any changes made to their daily activity levels. If there is any deviation, then a reaction is noticed through repetitive behavior. For an autistic child, his daily schedule is almost like a ritual and he does not like any alterations in this ritual.

It is also noticed that autistic children carry out the same activity several times. This is reflected even on a physical scale. If they are over excited and cannot deal with the surge of excitement, they exhibit involuntary actions like flapping of arms or clapping their hands or just moving one finger constantly. Parents who observe this kind of physical behavior early in their child, should talk to a qualified doctor and get their child evaluated for the possibility of autism. However, the child should be observed from all aspects and a 360 degree review should be conducted. A counselor or a child psychiatrist knows medically approved experiments that he or she can conduct along with the child to reach a conclusion of autism. In fact, this is the best way to diagnose autism.
