Anorexia Recovery And Eating Plan

Once you are on the road to recovery from anorexia, your nutritional needs and appetite tends to become normal just like a person without an eating disorder.

The amount of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals a person needs is based on his or her vital statistics. If you do not provide the body with adequate amount of these ingredients, then your body is starved.

It is very important for an anorexic person to feed the body with all these ingredients by eating planned food. An anorexic person is not like the others who eat regular meals at regular time everyday. These people fall into the category where they need to be fed forcefully. Having an eating plan would be beneficial for anorexic patients because they can follow the plan easily than depending on their hunger cycle to eat. An anorexic person without doubt needs extremely nutritious food because their body is starved of it.

The main idea is to restore the lost weight first and then work on health conditions. Also an anorexic person needs to divide their daily meals into smaller meals so that their body can absorb more. It is noticed that most anorexic people eat like babies because they might vomit the food out if they are fed extra just like babies. So the little amount of food needs to be nutritious and fattening and that is why the food pyramid guidelines given to anorexic patients usually contains a lot of margarine, cheese and other fatty substances which otherwise a normal person should refrain from.
