Type 2 Diabetes Breakthroughs

Diabetes is a modern epidemic that every nation is facing today. In present times, there are more than 17 million Americans who are suffering from it and more than 16 million people have not been diagnosed with it but exist with the condition. It has become a highly common disease and unless people are more careful about how they lead their lives, they have high chances of getting it.

Also, the number of children who are being diagnosed with this type of disease is increasing at an alarming rate. Furthermore, it has been determined that in every three children born in the country, one of them will be most likely to develop the disease either early in childhood or in adulthood. Several factors have been taking into consideration like increase in consumption of junk and fast food, lack of activity for children, lethargic lifestyle and genes.

The onset of diabetes has been found highest in pre teens and these children are most likely to be obese due to their food habits. What was typically considered to be a adulthood disease has become common among children also. A recent breakthrough in diabetes research shows that there is a direct relationship between the body’s metabolism and the onset of the condition. As per this research it shows that diabetes is mainly caused due to the decrease of the level of activity in the body and degenerated energy production. There are also treatment procedures which can help to cure the disease early before it takes over the person’s health.
