Insulin is a type of hormone that is produced by the pancreas in the body. In normal person who has no relevant health problems the insulin production will be normal. Insulin plays a big role in the body’s development and helps to regulate the blood glucose levels.

Glucose in needed to give energy to the body. When the body does not make enough insulin then there will be discrepancies in the glucose levels in the blood causing diabetes and hyperglycemia. The human body will require glucose through out the day for various functions of the body. Glucose is mainly supplied to the body from the various types of food we eat. Glucose when left in blood is not healthy because it is interferes with the functions of the blood cells and that is why the body needs insulin.

For people who have problems with insulin production, the only way to regulate is to take additional insulin in the form of injections. There are several ways to produce insulin which is identical to the human insulin.

It is also responsible of hyperglycemia and people with this condition are often treated with artificially produced insulin. People who have hyper- or hypo-thyroidism also face problems with insulin levels which causes them to put on unwanted weight.
