Hypoglycemic patients should discuss their condition elaborately with their doctor and also take a planned meal suggestion from their dietician. There may be several types of food that they would need to avoid and also increase consumption of certain kinds of food.

 

People with this condition should make sure that they have their meals on time more importantly. It is when they eat and what they eat that matters to manage the condition better.

A good breakfast like whole wheat based cereal or something healthy with vegetables would be a good way to start. Oat meal is great for people with this condition and they can make their cereal interesting by adding fruits like strawberries and bananas. Avoid buying artificially flavored cereal and instead add natural fruit cut into small pieces. Having a heavy breakfast is better to support the increased activity levels of the body.

Between breakfast and lunch it is advisable to have a small snack that comprises of a salad or a sandwich in between. Carrots, cucumber and figs are great interim meals that are high with dietary fiber for people with hypoglycemia.

Lunch should consist of rice or wheat base breads along with vegetables and lean meat like chicken or steak. It should be a balance of carbohydrates, protein and dietary fibers.

A snack in the evening can be small amount of crackers, fruits and cereal.

Dinner should be again a good balance of carbohydrates and protein.
