Herpes And The Prostatitis

Most men get prostatitis when bacteria from the urethra enter the prostate gland. Usually this happens when men end up using unclean sexual toys and other objects. It can also happen when there is a urinary tract infection or due to a sexually transmitted infection.

The fact that you can get prostatitis through sexually transmitted clearly shows that there is a connection between herpes and prostatitis. In fact, doctors opine that getting genital herpes can lead to prostatitis if left untreated. Therefore, if you have genital herpes, which is sexually transmitted, you should immediately visit a doctor to avoid complications like prostatitis.

Prostatitis can be extremely painful and can cause men a lot of discomfort, especially chronic prostatitis which develops slowly. Usually with chronic prostatis, men will feel a dull pain the rectum or the pelvic region. They may also suffer from a burning sensation at the time of urination or ejaculation of sperm. In comparison, acute prostatis sets all of a sudden and the symptoms appear quickly. In acute prostatitis, men develop pain, fever and enlarged prostate.

The best way to prevent prostatitis is to ensure that you do not get the infection. Therefore, people suffering from herpes should use some sort of protection like condom during oral and anal sex. In addition, do not use unsterile sex toys.

Research has shown that there is a definite link between herpes and prostatitis and you should be careful about getting genital herpes. This means taking adequate protection and not having multiple sex partners.
