Folic Acid Receptors And Lung Cancer

Through several researches it has been found that the density of folic acid receptors is fairly large on human cancer cells and including the cancer cells found in the lungs.

Folic acid is actually a vitamin that is received well by all the cells in the body. The human body does not produce it and it has to be consumed externally through supplements, and natural food and diet.

It has been found that cancer cells have more number of vitamin receptors in it than normal cells have. When folic acid is supplied to the cancer cell then it would be naturally absorbed by the cancer cell and through the same method even anti cancer medication can be passed on to the cancer cell.

Using the behavior of folate receptors on lung cancer cells many researchers are developing a method to cure cancer. Until now the most effective cure for cancer is either surgery or chemo therapy or radiation therapy. In the case of lung cancer, the most effective kind of therapy has been identified as surgery, which ends up removing the tumor and then the patient is made to go through radiation therapy. However, a lot of types of treatment depend on the type of cancer the patient has and also the treatment is only given after the staging process for the cancer has been completed. Lung cancer can become terminal in its advanced stages as the cancer would have spread around the lungs and also would have damaged most of the lung tissue by then.

Graphs-Of-Lung-Cancer-In-The-United-States      There are multiple factors involved as the causes of cancer and it cannot be attributed to one single factor. Scientists are repeatedly trying to find out the exact causes of cancer and also have been successful in drawing some graphs for causes and effects of caner on people. Also it is very difficult to identify where the cancer started in the body and how it spread to the other parts of the body. More..
