A person who has undergone surgery for stomach cancer may go through the rest of their life without having a stomach which means the body’s ability to digest food is completely changed.
A person who has had such a surgery is often recommended by their doctors to avoid hard digesting foods and they are also suggested to have smaller meals through out the day to keep their energy levels going. People who have stomach cancer unlike normal people cannot digest large amounts of food at a time because their body is incapable of processing so much food at one point of time. People with stomach cancer should also plan their meals where there is not too much fiber and also avoid eating foods with high levels of fiber in them. Also, in general people with stomach cancer should avoid sugar and sweet substances which can instantly shoot up the insulin levels in their body. Dairy products may not agree with them too well because their body somehow becomes intolerable towards dairy products. Patients who have especially gone through surgery should take additional care of their diet and keep it down to the bare minimum with easy to digest foods and also easily soluble foods.
