The latest researches in the gastric stomach cancer field reveal that by using antibiotic treatment in patients with gastric cancer the chances of recurrence of the disease can be reduced. |
These researches have been conducted in Japan and the reports suggest that antibiotics used in several patients even after stomach surgery has been proven effective and reduced the recurrence of the tumor.
In other Asian countries, stomach cancer and gastric cancer is increasing and has become a cause for concern. There are several reasons that have been attributed to the cause of the disease among Asians. One of the biggest reasons is the infection caused due to the pylori bacteria, smoking, consumption of nitrates, lack of refrigeration and also poor quality of drinking water. Deficiency of vitamin A and C can also lead to gastric or stomach cancer in people.
Also recent studies reveal that eradication of the Pylori infection could considerably reduce the chances of stomach cancer and gastric cancer. However, researches in China further indicate the eradication of the Pylori infection could reduce the risk of cancer in people; however, people who have had pre-cancerous lesions still face the same risk. Using the antibiotics helped in post surgical gastro cancer cases increased the chances of eradicating the pylori infection and developing a resistance to the virus. Because usage of antibiotics among patients who have undergone surgery for gastric cancer has proved that the chances of recurrence of the tumor were minimal because the virus could not affect the body again after antibiotic treatment.
