Mini strokes are also called transient ischemic strokes or TIA. A mini stroke is exactly the same as the usual or normal stroke that occurs in people. However, it is also a temporary one and can subside on its own at times. One of the most common causes of this stroke is a small blood clot that starts as a minor block in the artery of the brain. It creates stroke-like symptoms before it actually causes it.

People who usually experience mini strokes are usually old and more often the ones with diabetes, or high blood pressure. Also people who are heavy chain smokers, or have heart diseases and also high cholesterol are prone to such strokes. If you are a person who has diabetes or hypothyroid, you can be prone to mini strokes. People who have thyroid should put in additional effort to control their weight gain and exercise regularly.

Thyroid problems can cause a mini stroke because having a thyroid related problem increases the risk of atrial fibrillation, which is one of the major causes of stroke. That is why people suffering from high levels of thyroid hormones should make an effort to control the levels to avert any heart-related problems which could subsequently lead to a mini stroke.
