You can also get high blood pressure when plaque or fatty material builds up on the lining of the walls. The blood pressure increases because the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the different parts of the body. It can lead to a heart attack, stroke or angina.
Another effect of cardiovascular disease is on the kidneys and this can also worsen the already existing problem of high blood pressure. The kidneys cannot filter the toxins and sodium from the body effectively and this can cause kidney disorders.
Cardiovascular disease damages the heart muscle and this can cause cardiac arrhythmia. Here you can either have very high or very low heart beat. This can cause spells of fainting, dizziness or in worse case scenario, it can lead to a heart attack.
