Yoga has five tools which can be used to derive benefit during pregnancy. Yoga can help in smooth pregnancy and natural child birth. Experts as well as obstetricians believe that Yoga can also help in ensuring a healthy baby.

 

The five tools of Yoga are Yoga exercises; Breathing or Pranayama; Mudras or Positions; Meditation; and Deep Relaxation.

Yoga exercises -- These exercises ensure optimum supply of blood and nutrients to the developing foetus. They also work on the reproductive organ and the pelvis for a natural child birth.

Breathing or Pranayama -- This makes the person fit during pregnancy. This ensures abundant supply of oxygen for the mother and the child.

Mudras or Positions -- These are stimulation gestures and have effects on the woman’s reproductive organs.

Meditation -- This helps in resolving fears and conflicts and helps the mother to connect with her child.

Deep Relaxation -- Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a form of physical and mental relaxation and prepares the woman for child birth.
