Herpes is a viral infection. The disease can be spread by closed contact from month of vagina. There are two types of Herpes infections. They are called type I and type II. Type I infections usually outbreak above the waist, but Type II normally happen around the genital area. The commoner names of Herpes Type I are “cold sores” or “fever blisters”, and Herpes Type II infection are commonly known as genital herpes. However, the distinction between the two types is not important for treating and diagnosing.
When a patient is infected, the Herpes virus will be in its latency state. The Herpes virus will be in the nerve cell of the original outbreak. After some period of time, the Herpes virus will start its reactivation state. Herpes will start show its symptoms such as blisters or redness of the skin.
Herpes tend to recur in the same place. The outbreak can happen like once a month. Or it may only occur occasionally like once a year.
What make herpes recur?
It is estimated that about fifty million American are infected with genital herpes. Herpes can be only spread by direct contact from person to person, and it can be prevented by using condoms. Approximately, sixty percent of sexually active adults carry herpes virus.
