PAS is made up of two factors: brain washing of child from one parent and self-created contributions by the child. Parent neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, or abandonment of the children may contribute to cause PAS.

Parental Alienation (PA) versus Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS)

Alienation Syndrome (PAS) is considered to be a specific subcategory of Parental Alienation (PA).  The subtle difference is that Parental Alienation focuses on parents’ behavior, and Parental Alienation Syndrome focuses on the child’s behavior.
